After much acclaim and over 200 jaw-dropping live shows in the last year John has established a reputation for being one of the most intuitive and creative musicians the UK has to offer. Yet it is John’s extensive travelling and raw musical experiences, which have truly informed his eclectic taste and technically awe-inspiring live shows.

John spent several years travelling in Asia and Australasia, playing with local and international musicians, working hard on his understanding of guitar and performace skills. Having been heavily influenced by the sarod master, K. Sridhar and the old country blues, these experiences have helped develop his outrageous guitar playing into its current form.
His beautiful debut solo album, “Joys Of Spring”, has seen John hailed as a “one man explosion of blues, Indian ragas and baroque folk”, which in turn has propelled John into more mainstream circles, earning him the opportunity to perform in front of audiences who wouldn’t normally get the chance to encounter suchlike.

Having returned from far-flung places in 2006, John moved to Manchester and straight into the folk blues and jazz scene. Here he met Gus Fairbairn (Sax), Rick Warren (Harmonica) and Ellis Davies
(Bass) in one fateful night. Some while later, whilst shooting the video for Obnox Stomp, he met David Schlechtriemen (Drums) and the missing piece was added to the puzzle. Through playing together daily as part of a tight musical collective (Honeyfeet), comprising a weighty hunk of the cream of the Manchester scene, the band are an experienced and hardworking outfit.

2008 shows included four performances at Glastonbury, The Great Escape, Venn Festival, End of The Road, every night at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Kuiperfest in Spain.

2009 has thus far included tours in Italy, Spain, Canada and America (South By Southwest), Sunrise festival and a vast array of gigs around the UK, as well as invitations to play a number of shows at Glastonbury and Kuiperfest for the second year running.

Upcoming tours include Germany, USA, Switzerland, Portugal and Italy.
